I see two considerations here:

1. Technical. Yes, you can do what you want. Enable ICS on the first
computer's wireless network connection. Use that computer's wired
network connection to connect to the other computers through the
router. Configure the other computers as ICS clients. I've written a
web site with details:

Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics

Connect all of the computers to the router's LAN ports -- don't
connect anything to its WAN (Internet) port. Disable your router's
built-in DHCP server.

2. Legal. The broadband Internet service providers that I'm familiar
with prohibit their subscribers from sharing the Internet connection
with other people outside their apartment/house. I don't know the
specifics of your friend's setup. His ISP might allow it. He might
be violating the ISP's rules and could have his service terminated if
they find out. If that's the case, I advise not using his connection.
