Re: Can't View Workgroups on One PC

Thanks, Chuck,

ZoneAlarm configuration problem found and corrected. Reference provided for
firewall was most helpful.

Problem Cause: I had previously blocked Port 135 to deal with a ShieldlsUp
warning.

Problem Correction: I reset protection for both Internet and Trusted Zones
to default settings via the Custom buttons for each. This unblocked Port 135.

General comment ... I found your replies to this and other postings most
helpful. They provided a good general education in the subject area. Not
sure I saw a similar problem, i.e. specifically with port 135 closed, but I
do know that the ZoneAlarm Forum indicated a number of people taking this
same action in response to ShieldsUp warning... perhaps others will
experience the same consequence?

PS Yes, I had run browstat status and both computers with nothing amiss.
Had earlier found computer browser "start" in Services for each computer. I
stopped the browser in the Laptop and that enabled me to see the workgroup
computers from the Laptop.

Again ... many thanks, Chuck.
