XP SP2 Inbound Connections

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi, I have an XP machine that shares a LAN with a Win2k3 machine behind a
LinkSys befsr41 router. The XP machine can ping the Win2k3 machine and “see”
shares on the Win2k3 machine but the Win2k3 machine cannot ping the XP
machine and cannot “see” shares on the XP machine. Also I am unable to
connect to the XP machine via Remote Desktop (WAN or LAN). I have a Cisco VPN
client installed on the XP machine that is working ok. I have disabled the XP
SP2 firewall and stopped the firewall service. I ran netdiag and the report
shows “Passed” or “Skipped” for everything. Any help on where I might start
to diagnose this problem would be greatly appreciated. - Ethan
