Thanks for the response. The following are the data from my main
desktop. I took off the IPX/SPX as you suggested. The node type is
unknown. I went to the MS paper to see what the Enable proxy setting
was and I can't find a registry key labeled as such at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NetBT\Parameters
Does this key need to be inserted? There was also no key labeled as
node type or DHCP node type in this folder. As before, this machine
can still access the laptop.

Here's the ipconfig/all and browstat data on the laptop. I deleted the
DHCPnode key as you suggested but there is no Enable proxy key in the
folder. I also reset the winsock as you suggested. Still with same
problem.
