Re: Networking? - Almost there, just ome small problem

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

but in the PC2, all are default sharing. You should share one folder or use net use \\pc2\c$ to access PC2.

Hi, like a lot of people here, I have a similar problem, getting access to
another pc.

My Setup
=======
PC1 (XP Pro+sp2) connected to a Netgear Router/Cable modem
PC2 (XP Pro+sp1) connected to the same router via cat5 cable

Simple file sharing is enabled on both PC's
Both can access the Internet

PC2 can see PC1 and can share files.
PC1 can see PC2 but cannot share files.

I can ping both PC's

Both PC's have Norton Internet Security installed. (Have disabled both, but
still no joy)

Any reasons why I can't access PC2 from PC1?

I have tried different permissions and still no joy.  Would a reinstall of
windows be of any benefit?

TIA
