Need to set a prefferred Domain Controller

Hi,

Due to some constraints in our IP addressing on the network, we find that
some of the Windows XP systems try to authenticate through the Domain
controller which is across the WAN rather than the DC on the local LAN
(different VLAN).

How can we set the preffreed domain controller and the preference order to
help us out of this? I remeber Windows NT had a tool for this.

regards
