One of the problems with subsystems like the browser, and name resolution, is
that they are exhaustingly thorough. They enumerate, then query, each network
interface. With Lap and Meow having multiple transports (possible network
interfaces), each one must be queried, and timeout with no response received, be
realised. This takes a long time, as you have learned.

You need to get rid of these excess transports.

I offer a (sanitised) example from my library, to show what an ipconfig and
browstat list should look like.

One network device (in ipconfig) = one transport (in browstat).

Getting rid of these excess transports (phantom network devices) is your next
step. My suspicion is that you would be best off un installing and deleting all
network devices, and checking browstat (and maybe msinfo32) for verification.

Once all phantom devices are gone, reboot and re install your network card.
