hub automatically starting client on network

Hud boots up client when ever i start or shutdown the hub on the network,
both run XP home and its really p***** me off, losing lots of hair trying to
find a solution to prevent the hub automatically starting the client PC,,,
please help before i go bald!!!!!!!!
