Unable to Cennect to the internet throught Network

Hi everybody

I have a windows XP Pro, i can browse local area network but cannot connect
to the internet, or the exchnage server using office 2003. Although it was
working well before i partially installed a screen saver when the system
freezed and had had to stop the installation and to restart my Laptop.
i have removed the screen saver from the add/remove program but still nothing.

Even if i use a dial up connection i cannot connect to the internet

how can i fix this problem?
Please Advise
