BW,
Comcast has recently upgraded service in some areas from 3.0Mbps to 4.0Mbps.
You should following the instructions below, also you should check your
modems manufacturer's website and see if there are any firmware upgrades for
your unit.
>From recent Newsletter sent by them:
To take advantage of the speed increase, simply unplug your modem, wait 60
seconds and plug your modem back in again. (Click here for further
instructions

I have comcast broadband. For three months, I didn't have a problem with using my router a (Microsoft MN 700.) When I got home today, my internet connection was not detected. It said something like inactive or limited connection. Why, all of a sudden, would this happen? What should I do? I only have one computer hooked up to the router, but I would like to network an older computer to the router in the future. My internet works fine without the router. I even manually set up the internet connection with the router in place, using the same exact DNS and IP addrees, subnet mask, etc. to no avail. Please help! BW
