Progress (well, sort of) Report
Stumbled on Steve Winograd's superbly excellent series on Internet Sharing
(www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/serverwiz.htm All seems to be
working except, ironically, the segment covered in 'XP ICS Internet Gateway'
The instructions are, on a client running XP, Open Network Connections, and
disable the server's Internet connection. Then click Properties to
configure the Gateway, then click Settings. When I do, I get the message
"ICS computer is not configured to let network users control or disable the
shared Internet Connection. This setting can be changed in the Advanced
Properties of the shared connection on the Internet Connection Sharing
computer"
When I got to the 'Sharing Computer' - (I hope that means the host). the
connections is already shared.
Just go round and round after that.
What to do? Been at this for days
All suggestions appreciated
