When the computer with the hardware problem goes down, ME loses the
network connection, obviously. By rebooting the ME computer, you cause
it to do the normal search for network shares at startup which is why
you can then connect. The only way to really solve the problem is to
fix the broken computer. Then the software problem will disappear,
because it is caused by the hardware problem.
