Thank you Richard for leading me by the hand. Now I know that I am not
crazy. I went to the Control Panel and clicked on Network Connections. When
Network connections window appeared (takes awhile) the right panel was blank.
There were no icons or anything else showing. in the LEFT panel (outlined
in different shades of blue) were the following
---network tasks---
create a new connection
set up a home or small office network
---see also---
network troubleshooter
---other places---
control panel
my network places
my documents
my computer
---details---
network connections
so now what-how do i get fast switching?
