Ok, I want to set up a home network (with ethernet cords) in which my mom can
share her DSL internet connection with me. She will be the host; when she
connects to the internet I will automatically be online so I can browse etc.
She has a Toshiba Satellite laptop with XP Home. I have an IBM Thinkpad R32
with XP Pro. We use a StarTech 5-port Ethernet hub.

We would be able to connect at the same time without forming a home network,
but it seems that our server doesn't allow it. We did have the ICS working
through the home network for a while but it seemed to be unstable. My mom
pulled my cord to the hub once and we couldn't get it working again.

Now I'm trying to set up the ICS again, hoping that SP2 or some other
Windows update improved it somehow. My mom has already checked the box
"Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet
connection" in our connection's advanced properties, and I know that in the
Network Setup Wizard she needs to select "This computer connects directly to
the Internet. The other computers on my network connect to the Internet
through this computer" in order to be the host. She then selects her
internet connection, but here's the problem: The Wizard doesn't set it up.
It says, "Other computers cannot connect to the internet through this
computer. In addition to its internet connection, this computer must have a
connection to your network." Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the
Wizard was to set up the whole network. I don't know how to get past this
error.
