I have WinXP Pro complete with all updates installed. I have 2 accounts on
my machine. My problem is that when one user is already signed in, there is
about a 30% chance that the second user will not be able to use the internet
when they sign into their XP account.
Essentially, IE still works for the user who logged in first, but tells the
second user that it cannot access the internet - DNS error.
I do not use Windows firewall. I do use Norton Internet Security which
includes a firewall and virus protection. However, I've been using that
program on this PC for years, and it has not caused any problems whatsoever.
This problem started in mid-late August of this year.
