Dear all,
How the problem was introduced I do not know, but the solution came by using
the XP Tweak utillity from Microsoft (the unsupported but o so usefull
utillity). In the Access control part of the tool it is possible to tweak the
File and printer shares by choosing this option from the rolldown menu in the
middle of the page.
Problem solved! I can create shares again,
