    When the network card "disappeared" was it still being displayed in your
POST screen? (the hardware list just after your computer boots up)

Does it share an IRQ at all with another device on the system? and is it
inbuilt or is it a PCI card?

Also, when you say it "disappeared", do you mean it stopped working, or it
stopped displaying in Device Manager?
