I notice that the PC has mask of 255.255.0.0 and the laptop has
255.255.255.0. I think things might move along better if they had the
same mask (255.255.255.0). Once that is done, make sure the pc and the
laptop to the same subnet (i.e. both be on 192.168.0.x or
192.169.1.x).

Just curious how these numbers were assigned?
