On the XP system that I changed the domain name on that works faster now, I
manually went into documents and settings logged in as admin, and copied the
folders from the old profile to the new. This accomplished keeping all of
the desktop icons, etc but I ran into several software problems that pointed
to registry entries being incorrect. This makes sense since the software was
probably installed logged in as that previous domain\user. Will using the
method you suggested preserve the registry settings ? I would hate to have
to re-install all of the software on every system.

Thanks again,
Paul
