Hi Hans-Georg,
The error messages in Event Viewer says the following:

SYSTEM LOG:

NETLOGON:
Event ID: 5719
There is no connection to a domain controller for <the domain which my
laptop is member of>. At the moment there is no logon server available to
serve the logon request. Make sure the computer is connected to the domain
and try again, if the problem persist contact the administrator.

PROGRAM LOG:

AutoEnrollment:
event id: 15
The automatic certification registration of the local system could not
contact Active directory (0x8007054b). Either the specified domain is not
existing or there was no connection to the domain. Registration will not be
performed.

Note: since the domain is NT server 4.0 there is no active directory
running?!?

Userenv:
event id: 1517
The registry database for user DKCPHP02\Peter was saved when a program or
service used it, when logof was performed. The memory used by the users
registry database was not freed. The registry databas will be removed when no
loger in use.
This is in most cases due to services, running as a useraccount. Try to
configure the services to run as LocalService or NetworkService.

- I can only get to these messages when loggin on as a local account (admin)
since the system freezes up right after logon. Besides the problems listed
above I also get some errors from F-secure Backweb - which keeps my Antivirus
uptodate.

Thanks,
Peter
