I recently acquired a laptop running XP Home. When I
plugged it into the hub and went through the wizard, it
worked like a charm. I turned the LT off and disconnected
from the RJ45 cable. The network that it joined is NOT a
domain. I set up a few sharing folders on the LT and
successfully accessed from all other members. I also
established a printer on one of the Win2k PC's.
When I reattached the LT and turned it on, I installed
SP2. The Linksys router still shows its number (but not
named) in the DHCP table. All of the properties
(IP,Subnet,Default Gateway) are correct in its display in
the Local area connection status. The LT shows as a
member of the work group on the Local Area Network on all
member computers.
The problem - Only the LT shows in the Local Area Network
display on the LT. The Win2k machines still have full
access to eachg other, but cannot access the LT, even
though shown and the LT cannot access any of them,
including the printer.
