Warren,

Sounds like an authorisation problem to me. Network access to "Program Files"
and "Documents and Settings" folders is typically allowed only for
administrators.

On each computer, check to see if Simple File Sharing (Control Panel - Folder
Options - View - Advanced settings) is enabled or disabled. With XP Pro, you
need to have SFS properly set on each computer.

With XP Pro, if SFS is disabled, check the Local Security Policy (Control Panel
- Administrative Tools). Under Local Policies - Security Options, look at
"Network access: Sharing and security model", and ensure it's set to "Classic -
local users authenticate as themselves".

If Guest is, in fact, the authorisation being used, you need to know that it
does not, by default, have access to the "Program Files" and "Documents and
Settings" folders. If SFS is disabled ("Guest only" sharing selected), you can
grant access by adding Guest to the TWO access lists for each folder:
(Properties) - Sharing - Permissions, and (Properties) - Security. If SFS is
enabled, you will not be able to share access to these folders.

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
