coonecting to the web on home networking

right where shall i start
i have justed set up home networking, i have only two pc's connected
to the host pc i have connected a broadband router.
A cable modem is the connected to the router, so far so good
i have no problems sharing files with each pc but for some reason i cannot
connect to the web!
If i i connect the modem to the back of the pc to the lan card i can view
the net
but the other pc cannot
this has been doing my head in for about two weeks, please can anyone help
