Accessing workgroup resources, from a laptop that's been joined to a domain, is
a reasonably simple task.

Simply setup a common userid, with identical, non-blank password, on both the
laptop, and the computer with the printer.

Ensure that the laptop has network connectivity (either using DHCP, or the
correct fixed ip settings). Login to the laptop with the userid / password
setup on the computer with the printer.

The computer with the printer will be found under Network Neighborhood (My
Network Places) - Entire Network - Microsoft Windows Network. Setup the
printer, using whatever setup procedures / wizard are available.

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
