winxp/ie6 error

Using winxp pro. with ie6, When i acess a portal with date
criteria i get an error msg - " APPLET DATE TYPE NOT
SUPPORTED, BROWSER WILL NOT WORK"

the same is acessed with win98/ie6 it is correctly
displayed.

What configuration change i have to do in winxp / ie6 to
get the results which is displayed in win98

Please help.
