I installed a 'bluetooth dongle' on my desktop in order to access the
internet with my Palm Tungasten T3. To my surprise, afterward I could not
even access the web from my desktop anymore! Easy fix, I uninstalled. Not
working yet. So I tried and setup a new connection and I was back in
business. Not paying attention to my inner little voice saying 'don't do it'
I tried and do the same on my laptop running the U.S. version of XP (the
desktop runs an italian version). Same result. So I guessed...same fix,
maybe? No, after repeating the same steps tried on the desktop I still don't
get to the internet through my 'residential gateway'. I could trace it back
to the network adapter being assigned a wrong IP address that comes from I
have no idea where. I tried and create a new connection, I even uninstalled
the network adapter, now the firewall and antivirus (the computer was virus
free until the problem appeared so I assume that is not the problem) but to
no avail. Any help pointing out a possible fix to this problem would be much
appreciated.
P.S. In addition to that any time that I try and modify my setup I keep
getting the infamous 'Setup cannot copy file ...'. I feel cornered, if I
could I would have already reinstalled from scratch but I cannot due to some
corporate licences installed on it that I do not have access until the end of
everybody (else)'s vacation.
