Hi Steve,

Thank you for posting!

I belive that Steve Winogard's suggestion is helpful. However, I have some
supplemental information.

Please follow Steve Winograd's steps to disable Simple File Sharing. Then
right click "Windows" folder, choose "Sharing and Security" from the
context menu. Make sure that it has the same permission as others which can
be accessed from the server. Also follow the above steps to check the
permission of "Program Files" folder.

I hope that it is helpful.

Have a nice day!

Thanks & Regards,

| On my network, the server with a tape backup is on a Windows ME machine. I
| have Windows XP Pro on my notebook with NTFS.
|
| I want the server to be able to back up my computer's hard drive in its
| entirety.
|
| I have been successful in getting the server to access almost all of my
| folders. It, however, cannot access the Program Files and Windows
folders. I
| would like to have a complete backup of the entire hard drive. (Also,
| windows explorer on the server is not able to access those folders
either.)
|
| Is it possible to get the server backup to read those folders?
|
| Thanks.
| Steve
