Could be what me11 said but also to let you know I had a problem with
hotmail for 2 days, seems they have some ongoing issues.

I wanted to verify this so I tried to connect to them using more than one
computer on more than one internet service. Turned out that I decided to
creat a new account and could access it but not my old one. I wrote them
about this. Seems that different accounts are stored on different servers,
turned out that my old accounts were on a server having problems but my new
account was on a different server. A few days later all the hot mail
accounts were working.
Just a thought.
