Hi
I have the following setup at home:
3 computers all running Windows XP Pro (all the updates installed on all
computers)
PC 1 has an onboard network card
PC 2 has 2 network cards installed (identical cards)
PC 3 has a network card installed.
On PC 2 I have joined the 2 cards to create a network bridge, this pc is
also the one with the connection to the Internet, all the pcs can browse at
the same time.
My problem, copying files from pc 1 to 2 is very fast, but between 1 and 3,
the copying takes much longer. The icon in the taskbar representing the
network connection, shows full activity while copying between 1 and 2, but
between 1 & 3 it seems to start and then stop.
Is this a feature of the network bridge or is there a configuration problem?
I have tried different network cards with the same result.
I believe that a router would be quicker, but surely there should not be
such a dramatic drop is speed.
Hope this is clear.
Thanks for any advice.
