Until recently I was able to browse both my home network and the internet.
That wired Ethernet network that consisted of an XP system and 2 WinME
systems connected via a Linksys 5 port workgroup hub of which my cable modem
is using one of those hubs. File and print sharing is using NETBEUI. (I
know its not supported). I ran the home networking wizard specifying that
All pc's connected directly to the internet or through a hub. My problems
started when I added a WIN98SE system. After running home network set up
from diskette created during original setup, none of the non-XP systems can
access the internet. (DNS error - server cannot be found). If I turn off
ALL the PC's and start only one of them, then it can access the internet.
But then the XP one can't unless I power down the cable modem and power up.
Then the XP system can access the internet, but the other (even though it
just did) can't anymore. I'm no networking expert, but I have a little
knowledge (maybe that's the problem) and I'm at my wits end.
Have I described my problem clearly?? Is there something obvious I'm over
looking? I'm more than happy to provide any additional information
