In XP network setup Wizard (from setup a home or small
office network) goto next.
You'll be asked to select a connection method:
The 1st option is:
This computer connects directly to the internet. The
other computers on my network connect to the internet
through this computer.
The 2nd option is:
This computer connects to the internet through another
computer on my network or through a residential gateway.
the 3rd option is:
Other.
Like others, I use DSL in home and DSL modem is connected
to the router and all the computers ( several XP PCs)are
connected to the router.
If select the 1st option, all the computers can not be
connected to the internet.
See if this is clear.
