How to setup a network

 I am trying to setup a network with XP as the host and
98 as the other, I have run all the setups and each
computer is networked and acknowledges the network, but
they don't recognise each other. I am mentioning this
because it is linked with the topic, can you help me to
get them to find each other on the network.
