I'm supporting a network for a non-profit organization that
unfortunatly still has print sharing based on Win/98 machines.
People are comming in with XP laptops, using the LAN to connect to the
internet and then asking to print. I know that XP as netbios drivers
in an extras folder, and I've installed them a couple of times.
My questions is about versions of the netbios files. Most people can't
find the XP CDs that came with the machine. Can I use any netbios
setup folder on any XP machine (home, pro, with or without SP1.)
Should I force a reapplication of SP1 after installing a random
netbios folder. ?
(I'm trying to get these people to buy a copy of w2k and install it on
their print server. That's the real solution.)
Thanks.
