First, the bad news, Steve: It's not possible to be a member of
multiple workgroups.
Now, the good news: It's never necessary to change a computer's
workgroup.
Windows networking supports multiple workgroups. A computer in any
workgroup can access a computer in any other workgroup.
To see all of the workgroups on a network:
1. Open My Network Places.
2. Click "View workgroup computers" to see computers in the same
workgroup.
3. Press the Backspace key to see all of the workgroups.
To access another computer, regardless of what workgroup either
computer is in, type the other computer's name in the Start | Run box
in this format:
\\computer
