i figrd out how to change the IP on teh LAN connection
still not working
deleted the Bridge made for a new workgroup
rebuilt the bridge, still nada

when I click to View Workgroups, I get a message that I may not have permission to view and to see my Network Administrator, who is, so regretably, moi.
