Hi, Elizabeth -

An XP Professional machine should hook in to an NT4
domain without checking any boxes at all ;-)

Let's get the simple stuff out of the way first. We know
the NT4 DC must be running SP6a, right? Also, a domain
account for the machine itself is required. I know this
is simple stuff, but if those two prerequisites are met
the XP box ought to connect with no problems.

Windows XP defaults to the NetBIOS setting of the DHCP
server. If the machine has a static IP then NetBIOS over
TCP-IP is enabled by default. If the DHCP server doesn't
provide this information you might need to enable NetBIOS
over TCP-IP. You'll find it in the properties (advanced)
of the instance of TCP-IP that's bound to the NIC.

Hope this helps -
