cannot start Remote Access Auto Connection Manager Service on Local Computer

When i sign on to the internet, all it lets me do is
check my mail. I contacted aol, and we determined
that "error 10107 : a system call that should never fail
has failed". Aol told me that it was a problem with my
computer. Please help. Thank You. Carol
