my network connections password and username resets

Hi has anyone run across this problem? My default dial
up connection changes it's name, on it's own, for
example, from default connection to "old" default
connection. The setting are slightly off but the
username and phone number are the same however a new
default connection is created along with the "Old"
default. The new connection has a different phone number
and a different username, the new user name is connints
or something like that. I have up to date virus files
and engine that finds no virus' or trojans. This problem
occurs at different intervals but usually when we are
actually connected to the net. It doesn't happen every
time we connect but consistantly every day.
