Hi

You need to be running Windows XP Professional to join a domain.
Joining the Domain is straight foreward
Create a User on the Server and give it a password
Join the New User to any relevant Groups
Create the same User and Password on the Client PC
Reboot the Client PC
Use the properties from My Network Places and click on the Advanced item on the menu
Join the PC to the domain (You will be asked for the Administraors Username & password for permission to join the domain
Map any required Shared Drives or Directories and you are in business

Sorry if this has been answered before but I have some new machines at
school with XP Home and want them to join a network which is already set up
with some other Win 98 machines. I didn't realize that the Home XP was not
really meant to be used on a domain so have been racking my brain to find
out how to do it. I've found a utility called X-Setup Pro that says it can
do this. Can anyone run me through the setup please?

     Thanks a lot
