I Have 2 WINXP PC's connected with a crossover cable, a NIC in each. The
lan is setup and works correctly.
The LAN TCP/IP settings on the host are IP: 192.68.0.1 subnet mask
255.255.255.0. IEEE enabled, MS client, MS file & printer sharing,
TCP/IP, and QoS protocols all installed.
On the Client, IP: 192.168.0.2, subnet mask: 255.255.255.0,
gateway:192.168.0.1, DNS: as specified by ISP.
The Dialup connection has ICS enabled, IP& DNS are obtained
automatially. network is allowed to use this connection to connect to
the internet.
client Internet explorer has no check boxes checked under LAN settings,
and is set to never dial a connection.
The Client used to have WIN2K but I upgraded it to XP after I gave up
fixing it (same problem as now)
So now I have a problem still that the client computer will not access
the net through the host, even after enabling the famed ICS.
I tried using wingate but it wouldnt install. SyGate on the client
refuses to connect to the host.
Its like the client has decided that it just doesnt want to have the
internet.
someone please help.
