Hi David and thank you for replying.
Am happy to explain (did so a few posts back...sorry for
assuming you would have read). Peer to peer connection
(yes, RJ45 cable is crossed). Both PCs on XP home.
Desktop is host (connecting to dial up modem) Host CAN
ping client (good indication hardware is OK) client can
self ping. Client CANNOT ping host and host cannot self
ping. Client can see GAteway internet (also good) but
cannot communicate. Have disabled all firewalls. IP
adresses are fine (192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.1) subnet
mask are identical to each other. Have ran WinSockFix,
released IP but not working.
Here's a breakthrough...when I attempted to <renew> the
IP (fm MScommand), I get "the operation failed as no
adapter is in state permissible for this operation".
