Two Probs - Shared Docs

I have WinXP Home and a network setup with a Netgear Router wired to the

desktop and wireless to a laptop. Both PC's see each other, internet
works fine..

I have two problems:

1 - On the laptop I have a "Shared Documents" folder while on the
Desktop it is named just "Documents" - is this OK?

2 - I can drag a file to the other PC's shared folder and retrieve them
but if the file has been retrieved by the laptop from the desktop's
folder, then the file on the desktop cannot be deleted unless I reboot
or go into SafeMode.

Conversely, if I retrieve a file from the laptop using the desktop, I
can delete, rename, etc. the file on the laptop.

For some reason, the desktop will not allow any file in it's "Documents"

folder to be deleted AFTER access by the laptop. If there is no access
by the laptop, the file can be renamed, deleted, etc.

Any ideas or advice would be most appreciated.

Fred
