I have an issue with my network at home. I have a laptop
running WindowsXP Pro, which is setup to log onto my work
domain called FUTURE. At home, I have a desktop running
WindowsXP Home. I would like to be able to setup my home
network so I can log on to the FUTURE domain through a
VPN and print to the desktop's printer. But I haven't
been able to figure out how to do this.
I don't think I can change the network settings on the
laptop, or it will prevent me from logging onto the
FUTURE domain. I can setup the desktop however is
required. I tried setting the desktop's workgroup as
FUTURE. When I did this, the laptop could see the
desktop listed under the FUTURE domain. However, the
laptop could not access anything on the desktop. I did
have the desktop setup for file and printer sharing, but
was denied access. Meanwhile, the desktop received an
error that it could not be authenticated on the FUTURE
domain, and it could not see any computers on the domain.
Any ideas?
