I have a three computer home network setup just to share a cable internet
connection (no file sharing), using a Linksys BEFSR51 v.2 router. My systm
is running XP, the other two are 98SE.

My employer wants me to be able to work from home occasionally and gave
me software that should allow me to connect to the AS400 at work which is
running SAP business software.

Two other people managed to get their's working, but mine hangs at the
SAP sign on and times out. The only difference between my setup and the
other two is that they are not on a home network, so I suspect that might be
interferring.

They had me install Sonic Wall which I believe is acting as a VPN, and
enough of the SAP software to sign in and save files on my home system.
Both installed successfully. When I start Sonic Wall it tells me it is
connected to my work IP. When I start the SAP software, it hangs just
before presenting the login screen.

I have a separate firewall (Zone Alarm) which is set to allow both
program through, but even with it turned off, I get the same result.

Someone mentioned that I need to use the DMZ feature of the router, but
they didnt explain. I set my assigned IP in ther DMZ section, but still hang
at the same spot

   Can anyone help?

Bob
