Have a Windows 2000 domain with 5 XP workstations all XP
prof. Every XP workstation except 1 have no problems
copying files from the domain controller to their own
hard drive. On one of the XP PC's, when copying files
from a share on the Windows 2000 domain controller, it
takes approx. 10 times the time to copy files. All the
other XP machines take 3 minutes to copy a certain folder
to their HD while this 1 machine takes 30 min to copy the
exact data to the HD. All the XP machines use exactly the
same motherboards (On the XP approved list) with exactly
the same settings and internal LAN cards. I know all
about the SMB stuff but I don't have problems copying to
the 2000 box. I know the problem is on the 1 XP PC. What
do I need to do to the 1 XP box. All patches and updates
have been applied and the net card in a built in Intel
10/100 VE. Also, it does not matter what card settings I
use, 1/2 duplex, flow control on/off, etc. nothing helps.
The card is set just like the other 4 workstations but
still has the problem.
