Ok, here's the deal:
I'm running a 2.8 p-4 on an intel D865perl board
I can directly plug into the cable modem, but once plugged into the router, it doesn't work.
I can't ping the router or any of the other computers that are connected to it. The other computers are working perfectly.
When I try to obtain an IP address automatically, it assigns one of the 169.254.xx
assigning a static ip doesn't work either.
the router model is a: "befsr41"
please help! thanks,
h beach
