install disc gets to downloading drivers it stops downloading and

Use the CD that came with the XFI sound card, or the CD's that came with
your PC.

Failing that download the latest ones from the Creative Website :

http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/

Are you trying to re-install from the CD or from the internet ? If the
former, then try the latter. Go for the autmatic update on the Creative
website, it will install a small ActiveX file that won't harm your PC. Then
download etc.
