Jerry,I use WMP 11 so those were the menu options I gave you.
This worked great for the *.wav file. When I look at WMP I don't find the
Tools>Options>File Types.
I DID find Library>More Options>File Types tab.
Is there a place to find the reverse correlation/mapping? That is, see
all
the file types and then which program(s) are mapped to this file type in
WinXP Pro SP2?
TIA,

WinXP SP2 all MS updates
I've evidently gotten iTunes to be my default *.wav and other file
player.
I'd like to change this to Windows Media Player or whichever one I
eventually
decide on.
How can I change the default *.wav file player to WMP?
I've looked under HELP and the MS website but I can't seem to glean on
how
to reset WMP as the default *.wav file player.
Where are the other default application definitions set anyway? This
has
got to be one of those ultra easy questions! :-)
TIA!
Right click on any wave file, Open with and make sure WMP is selected as
the
default software.
Or
Open up WMP > Tools > Options > File Types and select what you want.
Cheers,
Jerry
The instructions also work for mp3 files and the various movie/audio files
that WMP can play (ie NOT rm, ram, iTune files etc.)
INo software that I know off for file correlation/mapping - try Googling
using those keywords. For example :
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&ie=utf8&oe=utf8&q=program+viewer
or this (1.6 million entries heh heh heh good luck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&ie=utf8&oe=utf8&q=open+with
I really don't see the need for such a utility as its so easy and quick to
change the "Open With ....". But anyway, Google is your best friend !
Cheers,
Jerry
