I don't know where you live, but where I live many people have been
sued by the recording industry for using file sharing services, and
kazaa may be one such service. I do not keep up with such services, and
the service you mention could have gone mainstream as has Napster which
is now a legal pay download service.

I would guess that programs that block adware, spyware, scumware, or
whatever you want to call it, is what they have in mind. There are many
such programs, and you would usually remove them as for other types of
programs at add/remove programs on the control panel of the XP. On my
computer, I would guess that Windows Defender, Spyware Blaster, and
Ad-Aware would have to be removed. I would not remove my anti-adware
programs for any reason, because there are some sites out there that do
some very nasty things to your computer unless you have adware
protection.
