Do you have WindowsXP installed on your PC by either OEM or a retail.
version? If you do, it is free, just go to the website and apply.

First, you do not uninstall and reinstal WMP to a newer version. You download
the latest version and install it OVERTOP of current version, it is designed
that
way. You can download WMP11, but I do not recommend it, unless you upgrade
your system to WindowsXP SP2 first.
Order Windows XP Service Pack 2 on CD (it is FREE)

Windows Media Player 11 is available for download - CD Freaks.com

my pc promted me to upgrade my wmp, which was working just fine. i did so
fromt www.windowsmedia.com. the download was unable to complete and i got a
internal application error. i uninstalled to my old version and i get the
same message. my pc 'help and support' told me to run a command promt
'regsvr32/u jscript.dll and to reinstall with 'regsvr32 jscript.dll' . this
did not help. i have attempted to reinstall wmp 10 several times and i get
the same result. i have xp pack 1, so i cannot install wmp 11. what else can
i do to fix this 'internal application error'?
